The National Level School Ranking (NLSR)-2023, previously known as Country Level School Ranking (CSR) or CSR-2020, is innovated and initiated, promoted by Lead India. This program is supported by Give Globally Foundation, a nonprofit registered in the Indiana State of United States of America and Lead India Foundation, an Indian nonprofit having its registered office in Bihar and Odisha on 29th September 2015.
Since then it is moving with a steady pace to achieve its goal with the leadership of many educational institutes, educationalist, consultants, Educational Policy Analysts, researchers, Social leaders, researchers, retired Civil Servants and other socio-educational activists.
National Level School Ranking (NLSR-2023), India, presented by Lead India, is a non- government body working on ranking of various Secondary and Higher Secondary institutions on a year basis. There are separate ranking surveys for city level, state level and national level ranking.This organization has experts from education, academics, statistics and management, policy analysis and legal experts who discuss and develop ranking methodology and approach.
Currently, NLSR-2023 is conducting a survey to rank the top Schools of India. This program is pertaining to this research and cover methodology and approach.

The survey form is open and available through Lead India, fulfilled by Give Globally Foundation. Schools/Institutions need to provide their respective institutional data for use in the rankings. Schools/Institutions, those do not provide data in any rare occasions, we enter a conservative estimate under the performance indicator of External Perception. Also, available secondary research data about the institute will be collected to validate their details and add additional relevant details in the report. By doing this, Lead India/ LIF/ GIF avoid penalizing an institution too harshly with a “zero” value for data that it overlooks or does not provide, but we do not reward it for withholding them.
It is planned to apply the standardization approach for each indicator and then combine indicators in the proportions indicated in the weightage table given above. The standardization approach is based on the distribution of data within a particular indicator (attribute). A cumulative function is arrived and then analyzed where a particular institution’s indicator ranges within that function.
